Biscuit jointers or plate jointers are tools that cut splines into the edges of stock to allow additional gluing surfaces to make a stronger joint. Biscuit cutters can also be used to make hinges. (See biscuits) Biscuit jointers are used in wood, composites, and Corian materials.
