Kreg Pocket Hole Screws

KREG self-tapping screws are specially designed for pocket hole joinery. They feature a self-tapping auger point that eliminates pre-drilling and a flat head that seats flushly in the bottom of the pocket hole.

1. When do I use coarse thread screws and when do I use fine thread screws? o Coarse thread screws are for softwoods like Pine. Fine thread screws are for hard woods like Oak and Cherry.
2. Why can’t I use regular drywall screws? o The taper on the bottom makes your wood far more likely to split as you seat the screw.
3. How do Kreg screws provide a stronger joint? o The flat bottom on the screw head seats better in the bottom of the Pocket-Hole giving the joint more strength. Also, the self-tapping, auger style tip allows the screw to easily drive into the second piece of wood, pulling the two pieces tightly together to form a strong joint.
4. What’s the difference between SML and SPS? o The SML screws are our Maxi-Loc™ screw head. This screw offers a larger head enabling your screw to seat better in the pocket hole. The SPS screw is a pan head style of screw. This screw will have a smaller diameter and works extremely well in hardwoods.
5. How do I know what screw length to choose? o The answer depends on the thickness of the two pieces of wood you are joining.
