Delta builds on “Made in USA” model

On Aug. 2, Delta Power Equipment Corporation announced that 300 Made in the USA Unisaw Cabinet Saws have been produced and shipped from their new location in Anderson, S.C.
The Anderson facility has also completed production runs of Biesemeyer and Delta products, including woodworking accessories, radial arm saws and line-boring machines.
“I hope this news will put to rest anyone thinking we were moving overseas,” said Bryan Whiffen, president and CEO of Delta. “We believe strongly in the Delta ‘Made in the USA’ tradition, and are working hard to continue that tradition."

DELTA® Bolsters the Woodshop With Launch of New Family of Products
JACKSON, Tenn. (June 16, 2010) – DELTA Machinery is proud to introduce six innovative products to the DELTA family. 18-Inch Laser Drill Press (18-900L)

13-Inch Portable Thickness Planer (22-590)
A new premium planer delivers precision cut quality, ease of use and excellent accuracy via a patent-pending Infinite Micro-Adjust Depth Stop that allows woodworkers to select and lock any depth dimension from ¼ inch to 1¼ inch. A newly designed three-knife cutter head utilizes enhanced geometry to create a more aggressive angle at wood contact than previous cutter heads, delivering an ultra smooth finish that requires minimal finish sanding. The longest infeed and outfeed tables on the market are complemented with a best-in-class material capacity area that is 6 inches high by 13 inches wide. The new low voltage control UNISAW meets the needs of industrial and institutional customers that prefer the LVC feature and is otherwise identical to the original UNISAW relaunched in 2009, including a unique one-piece cast-iron trunnion design, a bevel gauge centered between dual front cranks, a rise-and-fall two-position riving knife, a modular tool-free guarding system and a fully integrated dust collection system. New lithium-ion batteries add to expanded power tool line developed from tradesman feedback
TOWSON, Md. (March 12, 2009) – PORTER-CABLE announced today the expansion of its popular professional-grade 18-volt cordless tool line with seven new tools, two new lithium-ion combination kits and two additional lithium-ion batteries developed with direct feedback from the tradesmen who use them.
Building on the line’s interchangeable lithium-ion and Nickel Cadmium (NiCad) battery system, the new PORTER-CABLE LX (PC18BLX) and EX (PC18BLEX) 18-volt, Lithium-Ion Battery Packs feature extended run-time and offer expanded options for users to build a cordless system tailored to their needs. The batteries can be used interchangeably with any PORTER-CABLE 18-volt cordless tool and will be available along with the entire expanded cordless line beginning in May 2009.
Impact Drivers
PORTER-CABLE introduces two new 1/4-inch hex impact drivers, available in 18-volt (PC18ID) and 12-volt (PC120IDK-2) configurations. The 18-volt impact driver also is available as part of a lithium-ion kit (PCL180IDK-2), while the 12-volt impact driver comes standard as part of a NiCad kit. The impact drivers offer high-torque output, virtually eliminating kickback, thus allowing users to take-on heavy-duty fastening applications for extended periods
without fatigue.
With a heavy-duty impact mechanism, the 18-volt and 12-volt impact drivers can deliver up to 1,600 inch-pounds and 1,400 inch-pounds of torque, respectively, at 2,800 blows-per-minute (BPM). The impact block is cold-forged to provide maximum durability.
At 6-1/2 inches, the impact drivers fit into tight areas not accessible to larger impact drivers and drill/drivers. To achieve the shortest length in their class, the impact drivers utilize a high-output, compact motor. The impact drivers incorporate a variable-speed trigger to provide a smooth power curve for maximum control across a range of applications and an on-board LED work light to illuminate dark areas without compromising battery run-time.

Jigsaw
The PORTER-CABLE jigsaw (PC18JS) is the only 18-volt jigsaw to offer both a tool-free shoe and detachable vacuum attachment port. The tool-free steel shoe provides hassle-free transitions from straight (0 degree) and 45-degree bevel cuts, while the vacuum attachment clears debris from the cut path and reduces airborne dust.
In addition, the jigsaw’s three-position orbital control adjusts the blade angle to allow users the choice between faster and smoother cutting to best suit the need. At a maximum of 2,500 strokes-per minute (SPM), the jigsaw has the fastest cutting speed in its class, providing a smooth cut with minimal splintering. The detachable dust port can be connected to a vacuum hose to reduce airborne particulates. Along with offering efficient dust removal, the saw’s fast-moving bit is capable of producing a maximum of 26,000 revolutions-per-minute (RPM) for smooth edges.
With these features, the tool is ideal for making electrical or recessed lighting cutouts in drywall, register cutouts in plywood, countertop cutouts and metal cutting. Hand Vac

Detail Sander

When activated, the sander’s high-output motor drives the 19-square-inch, hook-and-loop platen to a maximum speed of 10,500 OPM for superior stock removal and productivity.
The platen is tapered for sanding in corners and tight spaces, and has a detachable detail finger designed for small surface applications. The overmolded, contoured grip area offers comfort and control during use.

Area Light
Equipped with a 13-watt fluorescent bulb, the new PORTER-CABLE 18-volt area light (PC18AL) draws less power than incandescent lighting for longer run-time with a similar light output. A pivoting handle and base offer users flexible light usage and prevent obstructions in the light focus.
Whether hanging or standing, the lamp rotates 360 degrees to direct the light focus where needed. For secure hanging, there is an open hook to accommodate up to a 2-inch wide pipe. An indentation on the hook secures the light on hooks and nails. The stand also has a wide-stance base for stability on uneven or graded terrain.
